PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent ink from solidifying in the vicinity of the hole of a needle for supplying ink to the tank of an ink jet recorder. SOLUTION: A tank 11 incorporated in an ink jet recording head 1 is divided into a main containing chamber 23 of a large volume and two needle receiving chambers 24 and 25. Needles 12 and 13 penetrating resilient joints 21 and 22, respectively, are inserted into the needle receiving chambers 24 and 25. The upper needle 13 is connected with a pump 17 through a tube 15 and the lower needle 12 is connected with a main tank 16 through a tube 14. A hole 26 interconnecting the needle receiving chamber 24 and the main containing chamber 23 is located above the opening 19 of the needle receiving chamber 24 and a hole 27 interconnecting the needle receiving chamber 25 and the main containing chamber 23 is located above the opening 20 of the needle receiving chamber 25.
