PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a super finishing method capable of stably super finishing the whole surface to be machined with favorable surface roughness even in the case of using a grinding wheel with a small quantity of abrasion. SOLUTION: In super finishing a work piece A having a surface F to be machined around the rotating axis, a plurality of grinding wheels S1 to S5 having a width small enough to the length in the direction of rotating axis of the surface F to be machined and arranged in the order of decreasing the abrasive grain diameter are used, the respective grinding wheels S1 to S5 are moved in the order of decreasing the abrasive grain diameter from the direction intersecting perpendicularly to the rotating direction of the surface F to be machined, and the respective grinding wheels S1 to S5 are pressed to the surface F to be machined and vibrated, whereby in the case of using the grinding wheel with a small quantity of abrasion, the whole surface of the surface F to be machined can be favorably super finished. |
