PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eyelet button holing sewing machine capable of obtaining the same setting property in both of womenswear and menswear when a vertical hole is sewed. SOLUTION: The sewing machine is provided with a needle bar and a feed bar for feeding a cloth. A prescribed button holing stitch which comprises one straight stitch 61 formed when the cloth is fed in one direction, an eyelet button holing seam 63 successively formed from the stitch 61 and the other straight stitch 62 successively formed from the eyelet button holing part when the cloth is fed in the opposite direction is formed by the needle bar and the feed bar in the circumference of an eyelet button holing part. The sewing machine is provided with a controller. The controller drives and controls the feed bar so that a button holing stitch is formed in the opposite direction of the prescribed button holing stitch.
