PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a press plate replacing unit to be moved to a side of a printer without protruding upper and lower rails from a frame of a printer in a press plate automatic replacing apparatus for automatically replacing a press plate wound on a plate cylinder of an offset printer. SOLUTION: The press plate automatic replacing apparatus comprises a plate replacing unit 5 for automatically replacing the press plate, and a moving mechanism 4 for moving the replacing unit 5. The mechanism 4 has a rail 40 arranged along a lateral direction of the printer 15 so that frames 32, 33 of the printer 15 may not protrude, and a slide member 41 slidable on the rail 40. A support member 50 of the replacing unit 5 is mounted at the member 41, and the member 41 is offset and mounted at the plate replacing position side of the member 50.
