PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insertion tube detecting probe capable of accurately detecting a position of an insertion tube, and superior in repairing performance. SOLUTION: This insertion tube detection probe 14 is inserted into an end- therapy accessory channel of an endoscope, and is arranged in the insertion tube. A first coil part 31 by making two coils 26a and 26b adjacent in the lengthwise direction and a second coil part 32 composed of one coil 26 are fixed at a prescribed interval to a conductor 33. The coil 26 and the coil 26a are respectively connected to a signal conductor 37, and the coil 26b is put in a state unconnected to the signal conductor 37 as a spare of the coil 26a, and is arranged inside a bending section 22. When the coil 26a is damaged by repeated use, the coil 26b can be used for detecting the insertion tube in the almost same state as an initial state before damage by work for changing the connection of the signal conductor 37 to the coil 26b adjacent to the coil 26a.
