PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing member wherein the constitution is simple, the cost is low, and resources can be saved. SOLUTION: First and second packing members 1 and 2 which have bending sections on both ends and both sides, and are arranged to be confronted with each other, and third and fourth packing members 3 and 4 which have an approximate U-shape when seen from the cross section, and are arranged to be confronted with each other are formed of an approximately rectangular corrugated board having a reinforcing section. The first and second packing members are brought into contact with the front and rear surfaces of an article to be packed such as a long lighting apparatus. Then, the third and fourth packing members are brought into contact with both end sections of the article to be packed. Then, the folding sections 1a and 2a or the like of the first and second packing members are bent. Thus, the article to be packed is covered with respective packing members. On the folding section, slits 1p, 1q and 2p are formed. When respective packing members are fixed with a fixing member such as an adhesive tape, an opening 5 is formed on both side surfaces.
