PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jig holder for gripping a workpiece capable of machining the workpiece from any side in the direction of shaft axis by gripping it at a time and improving machining precision. SOLUTION: This jig holder 1 for gripping the workpiece is inserted into a clamp device 2 fixed on a rotatable round table 3, is detachably clamped, and has an end face 40a for performing positioning in the direction of shaft axis for the clamp device 2 and a tapered face 43a for performing centering. A chuck mechanism composed of a collet 32 for gripping the workpiece is provided and a through hole 38 which is communicated with an inner peripheral grip face 32a of the chuck mechanism, passes through up to the other end in the direction of shaft axis, and has a larger diameter than that of the inner peripheral grip face 32a is formed on one end part side in the direction of shaft axis. Moreover, a stopper 48 which can come in and out of the through hole 38 from the opposite side to a chuck mechanism side and comes into contact with an end edge in the direction of shaft axis of the workpiece to perform positioning of the workpiece in the direction of shaft axis is provided.
