The cheese making machine (1) comprises a mould filling device (102, 102'), a transfer device (105) for placing the moulds (10) in whey collection vessels, and a press device (120-126) for the filled moulds. A machine for making cheese comprises a device for filling moulds with curds, a transfer device located downstream from the filling device for placing the filled moulds in collection vessels, and a press device for the filled moulds. Independent claims are also included for (a) a method for making cheese in which a cheese mould is filled with curds and placed in a collection vessel, and then the curds are pressed so that whey is collected in this vessel, and (b) the collection vessel.
