PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for regenerating recording material with an image recorded by using an ink containing a sublimatable dye as a coloring agent by erasing the recorded image so that the residual image after erasing can not be discerned or judged by improving heating conditions and a device for the method which are applicable to an image recorded by ink-jet recording. SOLUTION: In the image erasing method (1) in which the ink containing at least the dye is used as the coloring agent, and the recorded image formed by applying the ink droplets on the recording material is erased, heat energy is applied to the recording material with the image formed, and the recorded image is erased by heating an image forming part at a temperature equal to or above the sublimation start temperature of the dye. In the image erasing device (2) in which the ink containing at least the dye is used as the coloring agent, and the image formed by applying the ink droplets on the recording material is erased, a means for supplying the recording material with the image formed, a means for heating the recording material, an erasing means of an ink erasing body set to face the heating position of the recording material, and a means for discharging the recording material are provided. |
