PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely grip a web by eliminating a slip having occurred between a bridle and the web to convey the web stably. SOLUTION: A set torque value of the bridle A is stepwise reduced by a set minute value while confirming a slip condition of the bridle A in which a slip occurs. Consequently, a large burden is not applied to the bridle B as in a method for reducing load sharing of the bridle A down to zero suddenly, and a new slip does not occur between the bridle B and the web W. Moreover, the load sharing of the bridle A is stepwise reduced while confirming the slip condition to approach a proper value without fail. For this reason, a situation in which a slip cannot be eliminated depending on surface conditions of the web and the bridle A like a compensation value set in advance does not occur.
