PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical chuck of a simple structure which requires no drive source. SOLUTION: An annular hollow case (2) having a tightening tool (3) inside, with a plurality of claws (4) outside the tightening tool (3) and an annular elastic body (5) piercing each claw (4), an annular handle (6) in contact with the tightening tool (3), and a set collar (7) having a lever (8) and a spring (9) for restoring the position of the lever (8) on the opposite side in contact with the tightening tool (3) of the handle (6) are fitted to a pipe (1) having a male screw part on one end and a flange on the other end.
