PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently cut a long metal work such as a flat metal tube to the predetermined length with high accuracy. SOLUTION: A master roll Rw of the long metal work W is set to a material feed source 1, and the long metal work W is successively passed through a correction device 5, a feeder 6, a cutter unit 7 and a tensioning means 8 via a rolling roller 31. The long metal stock W is fed forward by the predetermined length while alternately clamping the long metal work by a pair of traveling bases 6A and 6B constituting the feeder 6, a cut is formed therein by the cutter unit 7 having a pair of circular cutter blades 72 and 72, and the tension in the axial direction with the cut as a boundary is applied to the long metal work W by the tensioning means 8.
