PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding material with a low thermal expansion coefficient for an Fe-Ni alloy which can be produced in a high yield, can inexpensively be supplied, causes no high temperature cracking on welding, and enables a sufficient bead shape. SOLUTION: The welding material with low thermal expansion coefficient for an Fe-Ni alloy has a composition containing 30 to 45% Ni, 0.08 to 0.30% C, 0.01 to 0.50% Si, 0.10 to 1.0% Mn, 0.05 to 0.50% Ti and 0.10 to 1.5% Ta, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. The inevitable impurities are controlled in <=0.10% Nb, <=0.010% P, <=0.005% S, <=0.30% Cu, <=0.30% Cr, <=0.30% Mo, <=0.010% Al, <=0.010% O and <=0.010% N. Further, 20×C/(2×Nb+ Ta+4×Ti)>=1.0, and 1.3×(Ta/181)+(Ti/48)-1.2×(Nb/93)}×100>=0.5 are satisfied.
