PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which the display mode of time limit information being printed on a print medium can be altered readily depending on inputted time limit information. SOLUTION: Since dot patterns of three types of character size of L, M and S corresponding to the three sectioned open date are stored in a character ROM, when an inputted open date is between 1-6 days (S4; YES), 1-4 weeks (S6; YES), or 1-18 months (S8), dot pattern data of character size corresponding to the inputted open date is transferred from the character ROM to a print buffer at the time of printing and printed onto a print medium.
