A computer security device for use with a computer having a main unit and a cover for the main unit. The security device includes a relay connecte d to a main power of the computer for switching on and off power to the main power of said computer. An input/output interface is disposed in the main un it for controlling two-way communication of computer inner storage medium, outer storage medium and communication medium. A locking device on the main unit includes a plurality of selectable settings corresponding to computer control modes. The settings are selectable using a key. A signal detector detects the control mode and transmits signals corresponding to each of the control modes. A control unit controls a reset mode of the central processin g unit of the computer, an on/off mode of the main power of the computer by controlling said relay, and an on/off mode of the input/output port of the input/output interface according to the signal transmitted from the signal detector.
