PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feeding machine for rod-shaped article, detecting a blocking of the rod-shaped article directly and realizing an automatic returning work with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: This feeding machine for a filter rod as the rod-shaped article is equipped with a lower drum 36 for conveying the filter rod F taken out from a hopper 8 through an upper drum 10, an ejection head 68 positioned as adjacent to the end surface of the lower drum 36 and guiding the filter rod F discharged from the inside of the lower drum by the ejection of compressed air into an air-conveying tube 6, a flexible tube part 6a installed at the air-conveying tube 6 and allowing the separation of the ejection head 68 from the lower drum 36, a blocking detection sensor directly detecting the blocking of the filter rod F, a progressing forward and backward cylinder 76 and lifting up and down cylinder 78 for separating the ejection head 68 against the lower drum 36 and a controller for controlling the movement of each of the parts based on a signal from the blocking-detecting sensor.
