PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a technology to easily find the place of a generated defect after completing a cutting program in order to revise the part at which a recutting (retry operation) due to the generation of a defect and a skip operation of cutting at the place of the generated defect are performed in a laser cutting of a steel plate or the like. SOLUTION: A machine and a method for laser cutting are provided with which a log composed of such information as the program number of the cutting program corresponding to the performed retry operation, the time when the defect is generated and the sequence number or the like is stored in a storage 11 and the log is displayed on a display panel 15.
