PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire cord which comprises a metal wire as a core and a resin tube covered around the outside of the metal wire, cannot be easily cut by an edge tool, and has a coil-like winding part with restoring force and tensile strength considerably larger than those of a known wire cord, and a method for manufacturing the wire cord. SOLUTION: A coil-like primary preliminary winding part 15 is formed by tightly winding a wire 2b formed by collectively stranding metal small wires around a winding bar tool 12, and the coil-like primary preliminary winding part 15 is quenched at the temperature at which no re-winding occurs, and cooled. Then, the winding bar tool 12 is detached, the wire is wound in the opposite direction, the winding direction is inverted to form an inversely winding part 20, the resin tube 2e is covered around the outer circumference therearound, and then, heated at the temperature at which the resin tube 2e is fitted to the wire. |
