摘要 |
PURPOSE: A disk device of a hard disk drive is provided to endure shock generated in landing and taking off a head and minimize a frictional coefficient by coating a CSS zone as well as the head with a DLC material, thereby improving a CSS characteristic. CONSTITUTION: An Al-substrate(11) which forms a base of a disk(10) is overcoated with a thin magnetic carbon(12) in a certain thickness. To a whole CSS(Contact Start Stop) zone(14) where a write/read head lands or takes off, a DLC(Diamond-Like-Carbon)(16) is coated in a thickness considering the existing glide height. To a data zone(15) where data is stored, smooth texturing is executed by a lubricant on the carbon layer. An air bearing surface of the write/read head is coated with the same DLC material.
