1,002,348. Syringes. SOC. DES VERRERIES INDUSTRIELLES REUNIES DU LOING. Nov. 2, 1961 [Nov. 2, 1960], No. 39391/61. Heading FIR. [Also in Division A5] A syringe for discharging a predetermined volume of liquid comprises a glass body 1 constricted at 2 to form chambers la, 1b. A tube 5 is bent, within chamber 1b, to form a beak ending in a narrow orifice 5a and extends beyond the chamber to form a nozzle 6. The piston 4 is withdrawn from a position abutting the constriction 2 until a drop of liquid rising in tube 5 overflows into the chamber 1 from the orifice 5a. Return movement of the piston delivers only the quantity of liquid contained in the tube nozzle and needle. A flat 8 is formed on the collar 3 opposite to the orifice 5a to permit the syringe to rest with the orifice directed upwardly. |
