A draught-excluding or trimming strip, e.g. including a sealing strip 7 and a fabric covering 8, Fig. 4, to be secured to a flange around a car door or luggage compartment opening, incorporates an elongated clip member formed by a number of spaced clips 1 secured to a wire 2 or synthetic resin member within the clips and these U-shaped clips of synthetic resin or resilient metal may be of any of the three forms shown in Fig. 1, with tangs 4 or 5 or inturned ends 6 for frictionally engaging a flange. The clips are shown held frictionally by parts 3 on a straight wire, but they may be welded to one or two wires and the wire may be zig-zag or sinuous and at other places in the clips than the corner as shown. Some clips may be of wider U-shape, Fig. 5 (not shown), to straddle a thicker portion of a flange. A recess 11 in the sealing strip 7 receives a limb of each clip 1 and an edge of the covering 8. The tangs 4 or 5 perforate the inner portions of the strip 7 and fabric 8 and the strip and fabric may be secured together by adhesive or sewing.</p> |
