The wave and gravity energy converter comprises at least one float (1) for collection of potential and kinetic energy from mainly the vertical movement of waves and connected via energy transmission devices to the primary side of a gearing arrangement suitable for producing a larger movement length than the vertical wave amplitude on its secondary side per wave period and together with an energy converter connected to the secondary side of the gearing arrangement to produce a movement of higher frequency than that of the waves. - The energy converter divides the wave periods into lesser periods and converts the movement potential and kinetic energy to another form, such as potential, rotation, electrical or kinetic energy. Energy collected by the float is transmitted by an asymmetric balance bar (2) which itself is constructed as a movable part of an electrical generator.
