PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the soiling of an electrifying roll from occurring again due to excessive development caused by faulty electrification associated with the uneven soiling of the electrifying roll even in the case of performing the cleaning cycle of the electrifying roll under a condition that a developing device is at a developing position oppositely to an image carrier when an image is not formed. SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with a control means for controlling electrification voltage and developing bias voltage so that latent image potential may be equal to or above zero and smaller than the latent image potential at image forming time in a state where both a potential difference between electrification potential and developing bias potential and a potential difference between the developing bias potential and the latent image potential are still kept the respective potential differences at the image forming time in the case of performing the cleaning cycle of the electrifying roll. |
