PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recording information by which an excellent recording is performed on a information medium having a multiplayer recording layer by using an optical system having an objective lens having a high numerical aperture(NA). SOLUTION: A system control part performs administration (ST24 yes, ST26, ST28) in a way that a recording on another layer is not performed until a layer under recording state (a crystallized state in the case of a phase change recording layer) is fully recorded.
