Therapeutically active dibenzoxazepines with a basic group in the 11-position are prepared by reacting amines with reactive esters of alcohols. - A method for preparing therapeutically active dibenz(b, f)(1,4)oxazepines substituted with a basic group in the 11-position, which are of formula (I) or their acid addition salts comprises reacting optionally substituted amines of formula (II) or N-substituted mono-lower alkyl derivatives thereof with reactive esters of alcohols of formula (III) or (IV). The reaction products are obtained in the form of free bases or suitable acid addition salts. The benzene rings in (I) are optionally substituted with halogen, trifluoromethyl, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or lower alkyl mercapto groups. - R = linear or branched alkylene containing up to 5 C atoms; - R1 = H, lower alkyl, optionally acetylated lower hydroxyalkyl or alkoxyalkyl containing up to 5 C atoms; and - R2 and R3 = H, lower alkyl or can combine to form an ethylene group. |
