PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for magnifying/reducing an image without the need for a memory for storing coefficients. SOLUTION: This invention provides a device for magnifying/reducing an image and the device is provided with a plurality of delay circuits that stores pixel data, a delay circuit control section 20 that activates the delay circuits, a valid data discriminator 26 that discriminates whether or not the data are valid for calculating interpolation pixel data, a selection/mixture coefficient calculator 25 that calculates selection coefficients for selecting pixel data used for magnifying/educing an image and mixture coefficients used for weight coefficients, a 1st selector 16 and a 2nd selector 17 that select pixel data used for the magnification/reduction of an image according to the selected coefficient among pixel data stored in a plurality of the delay circuits, and an interpolation pixl data calculation section 18 that calculates interpolation pixel data from the selected pixel data and the mixture coefficient. |
