PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of heater element with which a heating section can be formed simply and easily at low cost by putting a metal heating element under bending and folding process into various shapes. SOLUTION: The heater element 10 is equipped with a heating section 11 which generates heat when electric current is made to flow into it and with feeding lead wires 12, 13 with which electric current is supplied to the heating section 11. The manufacturing process of the heater element 10 consists of a first process through which the heating section 11 is molded by putting the metal heating element under bending and folding process into a specified shape, a second process through which residual stress generated in the heating section 11 during the first process of bending and folding is eliminated, and of a third process through which the shape of the heating section 11 is retained by cooling down the heating section 11 after thermal treatment.
