PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact, low cost and high reliability optical fiber module having a high degree of mother board design freedom. SOLUTION: The optical module composed of a PCB 30, an upper frame 10 and a lower frame 20 passes through a mother board opening 61 and a lower frame opening 21 along with a mother board 60, and is secured by tapping screws 70 is upper frame openings 11. The optical fiber module is electrically coupled with the mother board 60 through a PCB connector 32 and a mother connector 62, has a module cap which is composed of the first and second frames 10, 20, and inserted in an opening being a light entrance in the entering direction of light rays.
