摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a magnetic pole to a desired shape while answering to high density recording by using a high saturation magnetic flux density material as a substrate film material to be a substrate of a magnetic pole formed by a frame plating method. SOLUTION: In a method for forming a track width regulating layer 12a including a magnetic pole part, at first the substrate film is formed on a recording gap layer 9. The substrate film contains a first layer 21 made of a magnetic material having saturation magnetic flux density of >=1.8T and a second layer 22 formed on the first layer 21. As a material for constituting the second layer 22, a magnetic material containing no Co and consisting essentially of Fe or Ni is used. Then a frame 123 having an opening 123A is formed on the second layer 22. Then a part of the second layer 22 in a thickness direction is etched. Then an electrolytic plating is executed with the first layer 21 and the second layer 22 as electrodes to form the track width regulating layer 12a in the opening 123A.
