PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magneto-optical recording medium and a producing method thereof which satisfactorily secures the power margin of laser rays of recording and reproducing, makes a recording mark length finer, makes a track pitch narrower, thereby, permits the recording density higher, permits the memory capacity larger, at the same time, performs the reproducing while keeping an excellent signal property and secures a high reliability. SOLUTION: A magneto-optical disk 1 is constituted by successively laminating a multilayer magnetic film 10 which is made by successively laminating a first dielectric layer 3, a first magnetic layer 4 having vertical magnetic anisotropy at room temperature, a second magnetic layer 5 having in-plane magnetic anisotropy at room temperature and a third magnetic layer 6 having vertical magnetic anisotropy at room temperature, a second dielectric layer 7, a reflective layer 8 and a protective layer 9 on one main surface where lands and grooves of disk substrate 2 exist. The saturation magnetization of the second magnetic layer 5 is made 8.80×10<-2> -1.76×10<-1> Wb/m<2> and the gas pressure on the film forming of the second magnetic layer 5 is made 0.6-3.0 Pa. The Co content in the third magnetic layer 6 is made 15-17 atom %.
