PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device that can reduce a CPU load and increase display screen switching speed during display screen switching. SOLUTION: The image formation device has a CPU 1 that controls the device using a program stored in an internal memory 2, an external memory 7 that is disposed in an address space in the CPU 1 and stores a program for rewriting the contents of the internal memory 2, a temporary memory 3 for temporarily storing data, an image memory 5 for storing image data displayed on a LCD 6, and further a BOOT device switching circuit 10 that selects which program in the internal memory 2 or the external memory 7 is to be executed, and, if the external memory 7 is not connected, extends the address space of the image memory 5 up to an empty address space. In addition, the image formation device invalidates a memory kind selection signal, from the CPU 1, regarding the empty address space and keeps holding an external memory connection detected state at the startup. |
