PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner leakage preventing method which is adapted to a long life of a process cartridge with an inexpensive simple constitution. SOLUTION: A developing device is provided with a developing roll 18, a developing blade, a support sheet metal 26a which supports the developing blade, a magnetic seal member 50 having a first seal part 50e which is formed in at least either of one end side and the other end side in the lengthwise direction of the developing toll 18 with a prescribed gap between the part 50e itself and the outer peripheral surface of the developing roll 18 and a second seal part 50c which faces the supporting sheet metal 26a, and a developer scraping member 58 which is provided in the vicinity of the exit on the developing blade side of the gap between the first seal part 50e and the developing roll 18 and is brought into contact with the developing roll 18. A magnetic force is given to the first seal part 50e and the second seal part 50c of the magnetic seal member 50, and a space E for toner storage is provided in the place, where the supporting sheet metal 26a and the second seal part 50c faces each other, on the side opposite to the developing roll of the contact part between the developer scraping member 58 and the developing roll 18. |
