PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress processing load of a CPU by performing CRC check processing of caption-superimposed data in a demultiplexer. SOLUTION: CRC unit 81 in a PES analyzer 80 analyzes PES-Header of caption-superimposed data to extract a PES-Length for CRC-checking the superimposed PES data inputted from a TS header analyzer 11, based on control of a CPU 34. If a Steam- id has a value of OxBD, the CRC part 81 checks the top data of PES-Data from the extracted PES- Length. If a data dentifier which is the top data of the PES-Data has a standard value, the CRC part 81 extracts a data-group and a CRC 16 from a Header of the PES-Data, based on the PES- Length. When the CRC part 81 determines the CRC check to be correct from the comparison of data in the data-group with the CRC 16 it outputs caption PES data to a memory I/F 17.
