PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile terminal, an image writing method and a storage medium for program storage with which a read image or received image can be confirmed on the display part of a digital camera or the like. SOLUTION: When a designated image is the read image, the CPU 2 of a hand scanner part 28 of the facsimile terminal converts the resolution of image data read with the hand scanner part 28 to square resolution, applies JPEG compression, performs read and analysis of folder information from a CF card 8 and performs control for storing information such as the read image/ thumbnail image/photographing date and time/photographing machine type into the CF card 8. When the designated image is the received image, JPEG compression is applied after the color space of a received color image is changed, the read and analysis of the folder information from the CF card are performed and control is performed for storing information such as the received image/thumbnail image/photographing date and time/photographing machine type into the CF card 8.
