PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element that has a sufficient luminance and is superior in stability and durability and capable of making a large area and is easy to manufacture. SOLUTION: In the electroluminescent element which is constructed of one or plural organic compound layers that are interposed between a pair of electrodes of which at least one is transparent or semi-transparent, at least one layer of the organic compound layers contains at least one kind of a charge transfer polymer made of a repeating unit that contains as a partial structure at least one kind selected from the structure shown in the formulas (I-1) and (I-2).
