摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method for a cathode-ray tube allowing an accurate inspection without damaging a cathode electrode heretofore damaged in a so-called impregnated cathode with barium oxide impregnated in a tungsten base to constitute a cathode electrode structure, which has a defect of being weak to gas poisoning in property compared with an oxide cathode, thereby causing large damage by the collision of positive ion generated by the collision between residual gas and electrons, which impedes the accurate state inspection of the cathode electrode and damages the cathode electrode even if carrying out the inspection. SOLUTION: In inspecting the state of the cathode electrode K of the cathode- ray tube having an electron gun 18 provided with a grid electrode G6 supplied with anode voltage, and a grid electrode G5 supplied with focus voltage, the inspection is performed by setting the focus voltage higher than the anode voltage.</p>
