PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily discriminate the upper, lower, right and left sides of a substrate after forming electrodes regardless of the presence of an orientation flat in manufacturing a plasma display panel. SOLUTION: In a process for forming electrodes on the surface of a substrate in this method of manufacturing the plasma display panel, identification marks 5A, 5B for identifying the upper, lower, right and left sides of the substrate 1 are formed at the corner parts of the substrate surface on which the electrodes 2 are formed, simultaneously with the formation of the electrodes 2.
