PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent recorded data in a memory card from being broken in a drop of the main body. SOLUTION: The portable electronic equipment provided with the memory card 2 for recording/reproducing data and a recording/reproducing function is equipped with a safety protection device 4 for stopping the recording operation of the electronic equipment when the drop of the electronic equipment is detected. Thereby, the memory card 2 is prevented from being broken because abnormal current fluctuation occurs in the memory card 2, resulting that a power source is stopped momentarily due to impact force of the casing of the portable electronic equipment when it is dropped down while data is being recorded.
