PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile terminal which can select an optimal communication route without requiring the manual selection or input of the electronic mail address of an optimal repeater. SOLUTION: A RAM 7 stores a repetition distribution table 7a containing the electronic mail address of the repeater for each of information of part of a facsimile number of the final destination or of each of repetition destination information containing the name or area name of the final destination as shown in Fig. 2. When the facsimile number of the final destination is designated and transmission is instructed (step S21 to S22 in Fig. 3), a main control part 1 displays, on a display means, the repetition destination information stored on the repetition distribution table (step S23), and by selecting a repetition destination information out of that information, an operator designates the electronic mail address of the correspondent repeater (step S24) and transmits electronic mail containing image data to which the facsimile number of the final destination is designated to the designated electronic mail address of the repeater (step S44 in a figure 4).
