PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve control performance in the current control apparatus of an inductive load at low costs. SOLUTION: To control the engine of a vehicle to a target state, an apparatus 1 for controlling the current of at least linear solenoid L1 is equipped with a control IC 2 where an A/D converter 6, a control CPU 4 that ADD-converts voltages across both the ends of a current detection resistor R1 corresponding to the real current value of the solenoid L1 by the A/D converter 6 for each fixed cycle T and controls the duty ratio of a PWM signal for driving switching elements 22 and 23 for conduction so that the real current value of the solenoid L1 becomes a target value, a universal CPU 5 that detects a knock signal or the like required for carrying out control processing other than the control of the solenoid L1 by the A/D converter 6 at longer intervals than the cycle T, and a free-run timer 11 or the like are packaged in one piece, thus sufficiently performing the control of the solenoid L1 and other control processing at low costs.
