PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver, capable of receiving ground wave and satellite programs and for storably containing an antenna for satellite broadcast reception, particularly for enhancing usability. SOLUTION: An antenna 2 for receiving a satellite broadcast is provided to a broadcast receiver body 1 in an closable or detachable way, a switch 7 detects an opening or detached state of the antenna 2 from the antenna 2 and a closing state of the antenna 2, and a control circuit 8 selects a satellite broadcast reception circuit 3 and a ground broadcast reception circuit 4 accordingly and activates the selected circuit.
