PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce a grey level characteristic of an original image in any form of a display image and an output image with fidelity. SOLUTION: A gamma setting section 12 sets an input grey level characteristic of an image input device 19, a paper setting section 15 sets paper information of a printer 14, a grey level conversion section 16 calculates an output grey level reproduction curve of the printer 14 on the basis of the input grey level characteristic and the paper information. Further, a video signal generating section 13 calculates the display grey level reproduction curve of a monitor 11 on the basis of the input grey level characteristic and the display grey level characteristic of the monitor 11. Then grey level matching is made on the basis of the grey level reproduction curve. |
