PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus such as digital broadcast receiver (set top box STB) utilizable by a plurality of persons and its control method which identifies a person who utilizes the apparatus and provides an apparatus operating environment suited to the identified person and also broadcast program information/commodity information, etc., suited to the taste of the identified person. SOLUTION: The apparatus having a plurality of energizing switching means for switching on discriminates the difference of the plurality of energizing means to operate the apparatus according to apparatus operating information corresponding to the discriminated energizing means. According to the control method of the electric apparatus having a plurality of power buttons for switching on, any of the power buttons is switched on to operate a different apparatus operation according to the difference of the power button set on.
