PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a defective photoelectric transducer in a line sensor in a radiograph reader for reading radiographs stored on a storage type fluorescent sheet or the like by the line sensor where a large number of photoelectric transducers are linearly arrayed. SOLUTION: Concerning the pixel data of image signals provided from the same photoelectric transducer 21 in a line sensor 20, it is detected that pixel data out of values in a prescribed range appear continuously in the subscan direction, and the photoelectric transducer corresponding to such detected pixel data is recognized as a defective photoelectric transducer. |
