PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of a electrifying property resulting from an electrifying device contaminated by a liquid developer on a latent image bearing member, and to keep the image quality of a developed image even in long-term use and to prevent the fogging of the image by uniformly and sufficiently electrifying the latent image bearing member. SOLUTION: Covering members 36Y to 36K to cover the opening parts of electrifying devices 14Y to 14K openably or closably are provided, and the opening parts of the electrifying devices 14Y to 14K are covered and protected except during an electrification operation. Block members 44M to 44K to restrict the thickness of liquid developers 17Y to 17K on a photoreceptor drum 12 is provided along the side wall of the electrifying device 14Y to 14K so as to prevent the liquid developers 17Y to 17K on the photoreceptor drum 12 from coming into contact with the electrifying devices 14Y to 14K. Sponge members 47Y to 47K to clean grids 40Y to 40K, and second sponge members 48Y to 48K to clean the inner walls of cases 38Y to 38K are provided. Thereby, the electrifying devices 14Y to 14K are prevented from being contaminated.
