<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately control device parameters so as to ensure a stable operation for a circuit and to improve products in yield. SOLUTION: A flat-panel display device is equipped with a flat display unit, and a drive circuit which is provided around the flat display unit to drive the display unit. The drive circuit contains an Nch-TFT and a Pch-TFT on a substrate where the flat display unit is formed, the TFTs are each provided with channel regions of the same substrate concentration, and the TFTs are short enough in gate length as prescribed so as to ensure stability for a circuit operation. Characteristic curves as to drain current changes to gate voltage changes in the Nch-TFT and Pch-TFT are substantially symmetrical to each other about a voltage value of the intersection of the characteristic curves. When the gate voltage values of the characteristic curves to the prescribed drain current are threshold values of a switching operation, a difference between the threshold values stays within a range to make the ON-state resistances of the TFTs small enough, and the absolute value of a difference between the threshold value and the center value of one of the TFTs is substantially equal to that of a difference between the threshold value and the center value of the other of the TFTs.</p> |
