<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To add a sure wrong-insertion preventing function in a simple method with due consideration on miniaturization and thinning. SOLUTION: The card connector is provided with a wrong-insertion preventing mechanism of a card C electrically connected by insertion into a connector body B. The connector body B is provided with a housing 2 equipped with a terminal member 4 in contact with an electric contact e of the card C, a metal shell 3 covering the housing 2, a card-insertion slot 21 fitted between the metal shell 3 and the housing 2, and a wrong-insertion preventing mechanism for stopping insertion of the card C on its way of insertion when an insertion state of the card C is not normal. The wrong-insertion preventing mechanism is provided with a displacement means 20 for displacing the card C toward the metal shell 3 side on the way of its insertion, and a stopper means 30 for striking at the end part of the card C displaced by the displacement means 20 to stop insertion of the card. The stopper means 30 is so structured to be fitted to the metal shell 3.</p> |
