PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of other modes in a light, which propagates in an optical waveguide layer (that is, less likely to be in a multimode state), even if dye layer containing a dye material having a high refractive index is formed for information recording (writing) in an optical recording medium. SOLUTION: A layer, containing a dye (dye layer) 4, is formed near a core layer 2, and the refractive indices n1 and n4 of the cladding layers 3, interposing the core layer 2, and the dye layer 4 are controlled so as to be different from each other. |
