PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zinc alkaline battery basing excellent high-rate discharging characteristics and good medium-load discharging characteristics without damaging heavy-load discharging characteristics. SOLUTION: This zinc alkaline battery has an outer can 1; a hollow cylindrical positive electrode 2 housed in the outer can 1 and comprising a positive mix containing a positive active material and a conductive agent; and a gelled negative electrode 4 housed in a hollow cylinder of the positive electrode 2 through a separator 3 and containing alloy particles mainly comprising zinc, and the positive active material is nickel oxyhydroxide coated with a cobalt compound, and the conductive agent is expanded graphite powder. |
