PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a content of a positive electrode active material to realize high capacity of an alkaline dry battery, and to prevent deterioration of heavy load characteristics after storage. SOLUTION: This alkaline dry battery has a bottomed cylindrical positive electrode can doubling as a positive electrode terminal, a hollow cylindrical positive electrode mixture disposed inside the positive electrode can, and a gelatinous zinc negative electrode filled in the hollow part of the mixture through a bottomed cylindrical separator. As the positive electrode can, the can is manufactured as follows: a nickel-cobalt alloy plating layer is formed on one face of a cold-rolled steel plate material previously formed with a nickel plating layer on both faces, and the steel plate material is press drawn and ironed such that the face formed with the alloy plating layer becomes the inner face. |
